Math Warm Ups Before you start today's math, you can go to SKIES to see all the counting collections from Friday. You can also see feedback from your teacher. Today is Defend day. Please go to iReady or Zearn. I suggest 20 minutes of each. This is a great opportunity to do fun and differentiated independent learning. If you think i-Ready is too easy, you can message me and I will change your level. Zearn i-Ready To get to i-Ready, log in with your Clever badge, then find i-Ready in Ms. Lambert's Page. For Zearn, you have a log in card from school. PE Please spend at least 20 minutes exercising. You might choose to do GoNoodle, Cosmic Kids, or play outside. Here is the Dance Video we are working on for our Zoom party on Thursday. Math Wednesday Warm Ups
Today we are only going to do fun warm up activities for math. 1. You have a very simple SKIES lesson. You're just going to think of different ways to make 32. 2. You are going to do a Three Act Task called Cookie Monster. Please follow these directions.
PE
Tomorrow is the first grade dance party! Practice your dance if you want to, or do another PE activity like GoNoodle. It's also a great day to play outside! Science Field Trip
Hooray, we're going on a field trip! We were signed up to go to the zoo this year, but we weren't able to go. This will be a way to visit the zoo without walking around and getting tired!
Today, you are going to visit the zoo as a scientist. You can do the field trip alone, but if your brother or sister or parent can go on your trip with you, then you will have someone to talk to. As you visit, you are going to make observations, ask questions, and form hypotheses. Please watch three short videos below before you start. 1. Making Observations 2. Asking Questions 3. Forming Hypotheses Now you're ready to start your trip.
Friday, 6/12/20 Last Day of School!
Today is officially Fun in the Sun Day! There is no work assigned, only fun activities!
Morning Message Zoom Meetings
Zoom Class Meeting at 11:00 am today! Wear some fun in the sun clothes to your Zoom meeting today! Be ready to talk about what you'll miss about first grade, and what you plan to do over the summer! We'll also take a look at our Class Memory Books today! You'll get a Zoom code right before the meeting via Class Dojo. We will have a Zoom small group at 10:00 am
The last day of school is usually a half day, so we're going to just do a few activities. Language Arts First, listen to the story Clark the Shark. I heard this story for the first time this week, and I really liked it! As you read, ask yourself these questions.
Science
Next, you're going to take a little trip to the Aquarium of the Pacific. Wow, our second field trip this week! We already have a lot of background knowledge about sharks, and we even know how to draw sharks. In this class you'll learn more about sharks, and you'll even learn how to draw a shark that looks a little different from the shark we drew in class. Have fun at the Aquarium! Art
Last, have you had enough shark activities today? No way, you can never have too many shark activities! This next lesson is how to draw a shark puppet. The puppet isn't hard, but it turns out really well! You might need to stop the video a few times. Okay, I couldn't let you watch that video without saying something. Of course you know that your shark puppet is a fantasy shark! Most sharks don't have tongues like we do. They just have a little piece of cartilage called a basihyal. This is what the inside of a shark's mouth actually looks like. However, the shark puppets are super cute! Wednesday, 6/3/20
